Surgery was successful! Worse-case scenario was that he might end up with metal plates and screws attached to the bone with recovery involving a plaster cast for 6+ weeks. Best case scenario - a couple pins/screws with a soft cast/ace bandage-type wrap and a sling. This approach will give Marc relatively instant mobility.
Not surprisingly, the first thing Marc mentioned when in recovery after the procedure was that he was ready to get training again. Crazy man. It will be 6 weeks before he's riding outdoors and at least 2-3 weeks before running and swimming are allowed. For the time being it will be extremely low impact exercise with minimal arm usage. Jury is still out about Longhorn. We will follow-up with the doctor in a couple weeks.
I am just relieved that everything went so well. MES & Zipp are napping on the sofa so with that, I'm off for a run!
